BG PICKS | EURO 2020: Quarterfinals- Belgium vs Italy, Spain vs Switzerland

We started the Euros with twenty-four teams and now we are left with eight teams as we reach the crucial part of the Competition

The first set of Quarterfinals will see Belgium New Generation Players take on the free-flowing Italy at the Allianz Arena in Munich Germany at 8pm Nigeria time while Spain and Switzerland at the St Petersburg Arena in Russia at 5pm Nigeria time

BELGIUM(3.43) VS ITALY(2.40)

Belgium will be looking to reach the semifinals of the European Championship for the 3rd time and in order to do that they will need to defeat the Azurris who are unbeaten in their last 31 matches. The Italians have conceded just one goal in their last 12 matches and will be looking to reach the semifinals for the 6th time.

The Belgian will be without Eden Hazard and Kevin De Bruyne which will be a huge miss for the Reds while Italy will have Manuel Locatelli and Giorgio Chiellini back which will be a huge boost for them

Romelu Lukaku will be looking to lead the line for Belgium in the absence of their two biggest stars and will want to add to his tally of goals.

Italy goes into this tie as the slight favourite and will be tipping them to win this tie.

Thorgan Hazard has been amazing and has contributed hugely to the attack of the Belgium team while Manuel Locatelli have been one of the best performers for the Italians

Both Teams to score(2.05), Thorgan Hazard to have at least one shot on target(1.60), Manuel Locatelli to commit  at least two tackles(1.70)

Both teams played perhaps the best matches of the round. Both going beyond regulation time with dramatic 3-3 draws that went on to extra time. Spain ended up defeating Croatia after two more goals. As for Switzerland, they scored two goals within the last 10 minutes to send the match to extra time to defeat France in a penalty shootout. This was the first knockout round win ever for the Swiss, so they are in uncharted territory for this quarterfinal.

The Spanish team have scored ten goals in their last two matches after looking awful in front of the goal in their first two matches.

It is a matchup that could come down to who takes advantage of their opportunities and if these sides keep allowing those chances, then expect more goals in this match especially from the forwards of both teams.

Pablo Sarabia has been amazing for the Spanish team scoring in his last two matches for the team while the Swiss team will hope Xherdan Shaqiri and Haris Seferovic will continue their good form in front of goal.

Pablo Sarabia to score(3.5), Xherdan Shaqiri to have at least a shot on target(1.85), Spain to win(1.72)
